NAINITAL, India, March 5 -- Uttarakhand High Court issued the following judgment/order on Feb. 3:

1. Instant short term bail application has been preferred by the applicant/appellant on the ground of ailment of his father namely, Laiq Ahmed.

2. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

3. Learned State Counsel has placed before the Court the written instructions, which states that Laiq Ahmed S/o Shafiq Ahmed is admitted in the hospital and is suffering from heart ailment and is receiving his treatment in Cardiac Care Unit and the doctors advised that Laiq Ahmed needs an operation.

4. Without adverting further on any aspect of the matter, purely on the humanitarian ground, this Court is of the view that, the applicant/appellant may be granted short term bail for a period of four weeks from the date of his release to attend the medical needs of his ailing father.

5. Accordingly, the applicant/appellant shall be enlarged on short term bail only for a period of four weeks from the date of his release on his executing a personal bond and furnishing two reliable sureties, each of the like amount to the satisfaction of the court concerned. It is further directed that, on expiry of four weeks, the applicant/appellant shall surrender before the court concerned and intimation to this effect shall also be given to this Court.

6. The short term bail application stands disposed of, accordingly.
