Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, addressed the "Pramukh Varni Amrit Mahotsav" organized by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today. Several dignitaries, including Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi, were present on the occasion.
On this occasion, the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation stated that it is impossible to fully describe the life and work of revered Pramukh Swami Maharaj Ji, his divine memories, and his infinite qualities. Today, the "Pramukh Varni Amrit Mahotsav" organized by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha is being held on the banks of the Sabarmati River in a picturesque setting, a truly delightful experience. He stated that by showcasing the life of Pramukh Swami Maharaj Ji on the banks of the Sabarmati River, BAPS has inspired people to live a virtuous life. However, to understand Pramukh Swami Maharaj's entire life and contributions, we must understand that he not only broadened spirituality and Vaishnav philosophy but also accomplished an unprecedented task in putting it into practice. Shri Shah said that by connecting devotion and service, he exemplified our eternal Vedic saying of "Narayan in man" without mincing words through his character.
Shri Amit Shah said that Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj Ji revived our thousands of years old culture of compassion towards every living being. Furthermore, he did a great job for the holistic Sanatan Dharma by inculcating the spirit of mutual goodness and harmony not only in the Vaishnav sect but also among the saints and mahants of various sects, without giving any sermons, simply through his conduct. He said that after independence, the reverence for the saint community and the order of Sannyasa, which was gradually diminishing in society, was revived and strengthened by Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj and his thousands of saints through the purity of their conduct.
केन्द्रीय गृह एवं सहकारिता मंत्री ने कहा कि वे पूरे विश्वास के साथ कहना चाहते है कि सनातन धर्म ने अपनी हजारों वर्षों की यात्रा में अनेक संकट देखे, लेकिन स्वतंत्र भारत में सबसे बड़ा संकट यही था कि संत और संन्यासी के प्रति लोगों की श्रद्धा कम हो रही थी। उस श्रद्धा को पुनः स्थापित करने का श्रेय प्रमुख स्वामी महाराज और BAPSसंस्था को जाता है। श्री शाह ने कहा कि प्रमुख स्वामी महाराज ने कभी किसी संप्रदाय के साथ तनिक भी विवाद किए बिना, केवल अपने आचरण से यह दिखा दिया कि एक संन्यासी, संत, साधु का जीवन कितना निर्मल, पवित्र और आदर्श होना चाहिए। उन्होंने सिद्ध कर दिखाया कि सनातन धर्म के शाश्वत ज्ञान को जीवन का आधार बनाकर उस ज्ञान से प्राप्त अमृत को बिना किसी दिखावे के, पूर्ण सहजता से करोड़ों लोगों तक कैसे पहुँचाया जा सकता है। उनका यह जीवन-पर्यंत साधना-कार्य रहा।
श्री अमित शाह ने कहा कि वे सामाजिक जीवन और सनातन धर्म के लंबे उतार-चढ़ाव के विद्यार्थी रहे हैं। उनकी समझ से स्वतंत्र भारत में सनातन धर्म और संत-संन्यासी परंपरा के सामने जो सबसे बड़ा संकट आया, वह था लोगों के मन में श्रद्धा का ह्रास। उस संकट का समाधान प्रमुख स्वामी महाराज ने उपदेश के एक भी शब्द का उच्चारण किए बिना, केवल स्वयं और अपने हजारों संतों के आचरण से कर दिखाया। उन्होंने एक ऐसा सुंदर और सर्वस्वीकार्य मार्ग प्रशस्त किया जो आज समूचे सनातन धर्म के संन्यासियों के लिए मार्गदर्शक बन गया है।
केन्द्रीय गृह एवं सहकारिता मंत्री ने कहा कि साबरमती के पावन तट पर संतों के समर्पण का भव्य इतिहास रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि ऋषि दधीचि के अस्थि दान से लेकर समाज के लिए अनेक कल्याणकारी कार्यों तक, साबरमती का तट संतों के समर्पण की भूमि रही है। इसी साबरमती तट से महात्मा गांधी ने अहिंसा और सत्याग्रह के शस्त्र से विश्व की सबसे बड़ी साम्राज्य-शक्ति को पराजित कर देश को आजादी दिलाई थी। उन्होंने कहा कि यहीं अहमदाबाद में, आंबली वाली पोल के मंदिर में, प्रमुख स्वामी महाराज ने सन् 1950 में BAPS के प्रमुख पद की सेवा स्वीकार की थी। 1950 से 2016 तक उनके द्वारा किए गए कार्य आज न केवल स्वामिनारायण संप्रदाय, बल्कि समूचे देश के सभी संप्रदायों के लिए एक आदर्श और प्रेरणा बन गए हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि वे संतों को सुन रहा था, तब बार-बार आंबली वाली पोल और शाहपुर क्षेत्र का उल्लेख हुआ। श्री शाह ने कहा कि उन्हे पूरा विश्वास है कि आज के कार्यक्रम के बाद आंबली वाली पोल केवल गुजरात या भारत तक ही सीमित नहीं रहेगी, बल्कि समूचे विश्व के लिए एक अविस्मरणीय तीर्थस्थल बन जाएगी।
श्री अमित शाह ने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि जिस स्थान पर शास्त्रीजी महाराज ने योगीजी महाराज जैसे पूर्णतः सिद्ध, संन्यास-जीवन को सफलतापूर्वक जी चुके युवा संत को अपना उत्तराधिकारी चुना, जहाँ गुरु ने शिष्य की परीक्षा ली और शिष्य ने गुरु के चरणों में अपना सर्वस्व समर्पित कर दिया, जहाँ बिना किसी अहंकार के, बिना संप्रदाय की सीमाओं के, केवल धर्म और विश्व-कल्याण के लिए समर्पित प्रमुख स्वामी महाराज को प्रमुख पद सौंपा गया, वह स्थान निश्चित रूप से सनातन धर्म के समस्त अनुयायियों के लिए एक पवित्र तीर्थ बन जाएगा।
The Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation stated that the Swaminarayan sect's programs are organized to promote education and eradicate social evils . This program was designed in the same spirit - it will teach us what a saint's life should be like and what we should learn from a saint.
