AGARTALA, India, March 11 -- Tripura High Court issued the following order/judgement on Feb. 10:

Learned Sr. counsel Mr. P Roy Barman, assisted by Mr. Kawsik Nath, learned counsel is present on behalf of the applicant and Mr. PK Dhar, learned Sr. counsel assisted by Mr. Kaushik Paul, learned counsel is present on behalf of the respondent-Tripura University.

This IA is filed by the applicant for directing the respondents to sanction and release the monthly subsistence allowance @ 75% of the basic pay plus admissible allowances w.e.f. 13.11.2025.

At the time of hearing, learned Sr. counsel Mr. Roy Barman, has drawn the attention of the court that by order dated 05.12.2025 the respondents were directed to pay the admissible subsistence allowance to the applicant from the month of October, 2025 onwards. That part of the order has been complied with. But since the applicant is entitled to 75% of the basic pay plus admissible allowances which compelled the applicant to file this petition.

Learned Sr. counsel Mr. PK Dhar, appearing on behalf of the respondents University submitted that already instruction has been given to the authority to comply the same. So he prayed for disposal of the application accordingly.

Nothing in writing has been submitted by the respondent University. However, there is no objection from the side of the respondent University regarding entitlement of the subsistence allowance @ 75% of the basic pay w.e.f. 13.11.2025.

Accordingly, it is ordered that the respondent University shall pay the subsistence allowance @75% of the basic pay with all admissible allowances w.e.f. 13.11.2025 to the applicant and the same shall be complied with within a period of seven days from today.

Copy of this order be supplied to the counsel for the parties.

With the above direction, the IA stands disposed of.
