AGARTALA, India, May 27 -- Tripura High Court issued the following order/judgement on April 27:
[1] This present petition is filed under Section 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 read with Article 215 of the Constitution of India for drawing up proceeding against the appellant(respondent herein) for disobedience of the judgment and order dated 05.11.2024 passed by this Court in Mat. App. No.07 of 2024.
[2] When the case is called, Ms. S. Deb (Gupta), learned counsel appears on behalf of the respondent-husband and has placed before this Court a document showing that Rupees 10 lakhs has already been credited to the account of the petitioner-wife and the same is taken on record.
[3] On perusal of Registry's note dated 16.03.2026, it is seen that in compliance to order of this Court dated 27.02.2026 passed in Cont.Cas(C) No.57 of 2025, Mr. Bikram Paul, learned counsel for the respondent has submitted a compliance report stating that on 02.03.2026, the respondent-husband has deposited Rs.10,00,000/- in the account of the petitioner-wife and also deposited the cost amounting to Rs.25,000/- in the High Court Bar Association on 05.03.2026.
[4] In view of the above, this Court is of the view that there survives nothing for adjudication in the present contempt case and thus, the same stands closed.
