AGARTALA, India, Feb. 10 -- Tripura High Court issued the following order/judgement on Jan. 9:
Heard counsel for the petitioner. None appears for the respondent though notice is served.
In this application, the petitioner has sought a transfer of T.S.(Divorce) No. 89 of 2025 pending on the file of the Family Court, Udaipur, Gomati Tripura to the Family Court, Agartala, West Tripura.
The ground on which transfer has been sought is that the petitioner wife is staying in Agartala and the divorce petition is filed at Udaipur, Gomati Tripura by the respondent and the distance between Agartala and Udaipur is 54 kms. The petitioner stated that she is staying with her minor son and she is dependent on the income of her aged father as she has no independent source of income and it is not possible on her part to be present before the Family Court on every date of hearing. She also stated that there is no other family member to accompany her to Udaipur on every date of hearing.
Having regard to the difficulty pleaded by the petitioner, which is not contested by the respondent, this application is allowed and the T.S.(Divorce) No. 89 of 2025 pending on the file of the Family Court, Udaipur, Gomati Tripura is transferred to the Family Court, Agartala, West Tripura.
No costs.
Pending application/s, if any, also stands disposed of.
