India, Dec. 7 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
The sixth day of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0, organized by the North Central Zone Cultural Center, Prayagraj, the South Zone Cultural Center, Thanjavur, and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, concluded with a cultural program at the Muktakashi courtyard at Namoghat. Artists from Tamil Nadu and Kashi performed.
The first presentation of the cultural program began with a folk song by Mrs. Mamta Sharma and her team from Varanasi. The first performance was a Ganga bhajan with the lyrics "Chaloman Ganga Jamuna Teer." In the same sequence, a Shiva bhajan was presented, with the lyrics "Jekar Nath Vishwanath U Anath Kaise...." After this, "Dum Dum Damru Bajavela Hamaar Jogiya..." was presented. Sangeet Kumar accompanied on tabla and Dilip Kumar on organ.
The second presentation was of Bhajan singing by Dr. Shivani Shukla and team, Varanasi. The singing started with a composition written in Ektaal whose lyrics were Aadi Dev Mahadev.... In its sequence, the presentation of Bhajan singing concluded with the lyrics of Avgun Chit Na Dharo.... The singing was concluded with the Bhajan Kar Manwa Ram Raghurai.... In this presentation, Ankit Kumar Singh accompanied on Tabla, Sukhdev Mishra on Violin and Sanjay Srivastava on Side Rhythm.
The third presentation was of folk dance by Mrs. Geetanjali and group, Tamil Naidu. In which Karakattam, Mayilattam, Poikkal Kutirai Attam were presented. The fourth presentation was of Bharatnatyam dance drama by Ms. Shubhangi Singh and group, Varanasi. The dance drama was based on Ramayana in which the episode of Jatayu's salvation was presented. The artists in the dance were Shubhangi Singh, Vagisha Singh, Jayrasa Yashomiya, Aarti Kandu.
The fifth presentation was of Kathak dance by Ms. Sunidhi Pathak and group, Varanasi. The first presentation in Kathak dance was Mangalacharan - Shiv Vandana. After this, the second presentation was Tarana - in which pure Kathak dance was performed. Finally, the third presentation concluded with Ruksar-tradition through Sufiana compositions.
The artists in the dance were Mrs. Sushma Bharti, Mrs. Priya Dubey, Mr. Vishal Singh and Mr. Ashutosh Singh. The sixth and last presentation of the program was of folk dance by Mrs. Geetanjali and group, Tamil Naidu. The program was conducted by Mr. Saurabh Chakraborty.
