Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey informed Rajya Sabha that as per the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 (in short, FRA) and Rules made thereunder, State Governments and UT Administrations are responsible for implementation of various provisions of the Act while the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) compiles Monthly Progress Reports received from the States/UTs. FRA is being implemented in 20 States (including Himachal Pradesh) and 1 Union Territory.
The state-wise status of claims filed, approved, rejected and pending, including status of Himachal Pradesh, as on 30.06.2026 is at Annexure. Further, the community-wise and district-wise segregated data is not maintained by the Ministry.
