Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has informed that 24 Red Category Pharmaceutical and Chemical units are currently in operation in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DNH&DD) and all the 24 Units have valid Consolidated Consent and Authorization and hence, not necessitated any action against these units during last five years (2021-2025) as far as valid authorization is concerned. The details of these 24 units are enclosed as Annexure.

Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has informed that Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) has not been made mandatory for all industrial units. Further, at present, no Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) has been established or is operational in the Union Territory of DNH&DD. Accordingly, all industries generating trade effluent are required to treat their effluent in individual ETPs and ensure reuse/recycling within the premises in compliance with the prescribed environmental norms.
