As part of the mega infrastructure package, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated 75 Redeveloped Railway Stations to the nation under the flagship Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

This is the second major nationwide dedication of redeveloped stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme by the Prime Minister. Earlier, on 22 May 2025, the Prime Minister dedicated 103 redeveloped Amrit Bharat Stations across 18 States and Union Territories to the nation.

The redeveloped stations have been transformed into modern, passenger-centric transit hubs with enhanced amenities, improved accessibility, and architecture reflecting local and regional heritage, while incorporating future-ready infrastructure. Nationwide, the newly inaugurated 75 stations across 20 States are redeveloped at a combined cost of approximately Rs. 1,570 crore.

About the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) was launched by the Ministry of Railways in December 2022 as a long-term, phased master-planning initiative to redevelop railway stations into modern city centres rather than one-off facelifts.

As on date, redevelopment works had been completed at 261 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The scheme envisages the redevelopment of 1,340 railway stations across the country in a phased manner, with works at the remaining stations progressing at various stages.

This is one of the largest station-modernisation programmes in the world with construction under way in various phases across the country. The scheme covers upgrades such as improved station buildings and waiting halls, wider foot-over-bridges and air concourses, better circulating and parking areas, Divyangjan-friendly access (ramps, tactile paths, lifts), modern signage and passenger-information systems, executive lounges, and, where feasible, sustainable and city-integrated design.
