CUTTACK, India, May 16 -- Orissa High Court issued the following order on April 15:
1. Heard learned counsels for the respective parties.
2. Instant IA is filed for extension of time to surrender.
3. Further extension is sought for by the petitioner to the order in the ABLAPL. The order dated 20th February, 2026 in IA No.285 of 2026 was modified on 7th March, 2026 in IA No.333 of 2026. It is submitted that the petitioner is extending co-operation in the investigation to the IO, hence, further extension is necessary. This Court by order dated 31st March, 2026 directed the State to take instructions whether the petitioner is co-operating in the investigation and in compliance of the same, it is informed to the Court by learned counsel for the State that there is co-operation from his side. Considering the submission as above and recording the objection of Mr. Kanungo, learned Senior Advocate for the informant who opposed extension of interim protection, this Court is inclined to extend the tenure of the order dated 12th January, 2026 for another ten days as a last chance.
3. IA is disposed of accordingly.
4. Issue urgent certified copy of this order as per rules.
