CUTTACK, India, May 11 -- Orissa High Court issued the following order on April 9:

1. This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual/Physical) Mode.

2. Heard learned counsel appearing for the Parties.

3. Pursuant to the order dtd.06.03.2026, learned Addl. Standing Counsel produced the instruction provided by the Department vide letter dtd.25.03.2026. The same be kept in record.

4. Basing on the instruction, it is contended that Petitioners were engaged as against the post of contractual programmer and such posts were fill up after abolition of equivalent number of post of Senior Assistant / Senior Clerk, Junior Assistant / Junior Clerk / Senior Typist / Junior Typist, Senior Stenographer / Junior Stenographer and all those posts so abolished are Group-C posts. But Petitioners are claiming regularization against the post in question with a prayer to extend the benefit of pay scale as applicable to a Group-B post.

5. It is accordingly contended that since Petitioners were all appointed as against Group-C post, their claim to get the benefit of scale of pay applicable to a GroupB post on their regularization is not at all tenable. Copy of the instruction is provided to the learned Senior counsel appearing for the Petitioner in Court.

6. On the request made by Mr. Nanda, learned Senior Counsel, list this matter on 24th April, 2026.
