ORISSA HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON MAHATMA GANDHI SMRUTI SADAN GANDHINAGAR V/S UNION OF INDIA AND OTHERS

CUTTACK, India, May 16 -- Orissa High Court issued the following order on April 15:

1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2. Regard being had to the pleadings in the writ petition and the prayer made therein, this Court is of the considered view that the present writ petition is in the nature of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL). Therefore, the Registry is directed to place the matter before the appropriate Bench after obtaining necessary permission from the Hon'ble Chief Justice.
