India, June 1 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

The monthly account of the Government of India for April 2026 has been consolidated and reports published. The highlights are given below:-

The Government of India has received Rs.2,12,679 crore (5.8% of corresponding BE 2026-27 of Total Receipts) for April 2026 comprising Rs.1,78,492 crore Tax Revenue (Net to Centre), Rs.24,293 crore of Non-Tax Revenue and Rs.9,894 crore of Non-Debt Capital Receipts, on account of Recovery of Loans. Rs.87,779 crore has been transferred to State Governments as Devolution of Share of Taxes by Government of India this period which is Rs.6,044 crore higher than the previous year.

Total Expenditure incurred by Government of India is Rs.5,74,892 crore (10.8% of corresponding BE 2026-27), out of which Rs.3,85,151 crore is on Revenue Account and Rs.1,89,831 crore is on Capital Account. Out of the Total Revenue Expenditure, Rs.1,09,562 crore is on account of Interest Payments and Rs.43,633 crore is on account of Major Subsidies.
