India, Aug. 7 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

To review the progress of the Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 digitally, the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) has introduced 'Poshan Tracker' application as an ICT based governance tool. It provides facility for monitoring and review of all services provided to the beneficiaries at Anganwadi Centres and also at their home. Poshan Tracker has enabled the Ministry, as well as States and UTs to continuously review the implementation of the Mission on various parameters and to make course correction.

An outcome-based evaluation study of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 was conducted by Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog (2025). As per the study, digitalization through Poshan Tracker Application has a multi-dimensional impact on nutrition monitoring, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), beneficiary authentication, and service delivery efficiency. The Report highlighted Poshan Tracker as a significant shift from manual, paper-based systems to a technology-enabled governance framework under the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP). As per the report, Poshan Tracker has become the cornerstone for digital monitoring of beneficiaries, inventory, and service delivery at Anganwadi Centres (AWCs). The expansion of digital platforms like the Poshan Tracker represents a foundational shift in governance, enabling greater responsiveness, efficiency, and transparency in the SNP's last-mile delivery. Further, in pursuance to the Union Budget Speech of 2016, every scheme has been aligned with the Finance Commission cycles and its continuation is based on the evaluation of scheme by a third party.

To address network-related issues while using Poshan Tracker, such as low or no internet connectivity in some areas, the application provides offline functionality for conducting e-KYC and face matching under the Facial Recognition System (FRS) for distribution of Take-Home Ration (THR). OTP for e-KYC and Aadhar face matching has to be taken ONCE in the entire life cycle of a beneficiary. It creates ease of living for the beneficiaries to avail the Anganwadi services even when network or server issues are present. The data entered on the application in the offline mode has provision of 5 days to sync, once network restores.

MoWCD provides continuous training and handholding support to Anganwadi Workers for effective use of the Poshan Tracker application through the following mechanisms:
