Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, today virtually inaugurated the Kaushal Rath initiative at the Gramin Mahila Shikshan Sansthan (GMSS) in Sikar. The initiative aims to promote skill awareness and employment-linked training opportunities for youth in the district. The event formally launched the Kaushal Rath district-wide outreach program. It also highlighted the Government of India's growing efforts to strengthen the skill ecosystem and ensure access to skill opportunities, especially for rural and disadvantaged communities.
The Kaushal Rath initiative is a flagship skills awareness and mobilization program designed to promote vocational training , skill development, and employment opportunities among youth . Through specialized outreach , the initiative creates awareness about government-supported skill development schemes and facilitates enrollment in certified , industry-aligned training programs.
Inaugurating the initiative virtually, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, said , "India's growth story will be written not just in metro cities , but also in districts like Sikar. Today, our focus is on moving from awareness to aspiration and from training to meaningful work. Initiatives like Kaushal Rath reflect the shift towards building locally rooted , globally relevant skills, where youth are prepared not only for the jobs of today but also for the opportunities of tomorrow's growing economy."
As part of this program , the Kaushal Rath, equipped as a skills awareness and mobility vehicle, will travel extensively across all blocks and gram panchayats in Sikar district to ensure maximum reach and participation. The Rath will serve as a vital bridge between interested youth and training providers by spreading awareness about employment-oriented courses , mobilizing candidates from rural and semi-urban areas, and promoting enrollment in certified skill programs. In the district , a total of 2,496 candidates will be organized , trained , assessed, and certified under this initiative over a period of one year .
The event was attended by Shri Jhabar Singh Kharra, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Government of Rajasthan , Shri Chaudhary Narayan Singh , former Minister, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Chayan Singh Arya , Patron, GMSS and Shri Jhabarmal Singh, President, GMSS along with other dignitaries and stakeholders.
This initiative is expected to play a vital role in increasing employability, promoting self-reliance, and expanding livelihood opportunities for youth in the district. In line with the national vision of Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Kaushal Rath in Sikar represents a focused effort to bring skilling opportunities closer to communities and empower young Indians with future-ready skills.
