SHILLONG, India, Feb. 26 -- Meghalaya High Court issued the following judgment/order on Jan. 27:
Mrs. T. Yangi, learned AAG assisted by Mr. J.N.Rynjah, learned GA today has produced a copy of the status report wherein a letter dated 23-01- 2026, has been enclosed indicating the reasons for the delay in conducting the election for the Moulakandi VEC. She submits that due to the large number of job card holders, at least three months' time may be granted. She also prays that she be allowed to file an application seeking for extension of time of the Caretaker Committee.
The same is objected by Mr. R.Pahsyntiew, learned counsel for the petitioner.
However, in the interest of justice, the prayer of learned AAG is allowed.
The said application may be filed within one week.
