SHILLONG, India, May 19 -- Meghalaya High Court issued the following April 16:

Heard Mr. A.S.Siddiqui, learned Sr. counsel assisted by Ms. A.Kharmyndai, learned counsel for the petitioner.

Issue notice.

Ms. Z.E.Nongkynrih, learned GA is present and accepts notice on behalf of the respondent No. 1, as such, no further notice is called for on the said respondent.

Notice to issue to the respondent No. 2 within three days.

Petitioner is also permitted to take personal service on the respondent No. 2.

The grievance of the writ petitioner is that the respondent No. 2 which is the Village Employment Council is seeking to construct a village road through the land of the petitioner. Learned Sr. counsel for the petitioner prays that appropriate orders be passed, inasmuch as, the writ petitioner had also been forced to sign a compromise with the respondent No. 2.

In these circumstances, learned GA to obtain instructions from the concerned Block Development Officer as to whether the allegations made have any substance.
