IMPHAL, India, May 18 -- Manipur High Court issued the following order on April 16:
[1] Heard Mr. Anjan Prasad Sahu, learned counsel for the petitioners.
[2] The petitioners are aggrieved by the impugned order dated 23.01.2026 issued by the Principal Secretary (Works), Government of Manipur whereby 57 (Fifty seven) Junior Engineers (Civil) of Public Works Department (PWD), Manipur have been promoted to the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil)/Assistant Surveyor of Works (Civil) in PWD, Manipur on the ground that the positions of the petitioners are placed below the private respondents contrary to the final seniority list published on 09.07.2025.
[3] Issue notice to the main petition as well as application for interim relief.
[4] Mr. S. Niranjan, learned G.A. accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 3.
[5] Petitioners are directed to take step to respondent Nos. 4 to 6 by speed post within one week and file affidavit of proof of service.
[6] Learned G.A. prays for three weeks' time for filing counter affidavit.
[7] The prayer for interim relief will be considered on the next date.
[8] List this case on 01.06.2026.
