IMPHAL, India, June 9 -- Manipur High Court issued the following order on May 7:
[1] Mr. T. Rajendra, learned senior advocate instructed by counsel on record Mr. Sakir Khan in WP(C) No. 703 of 2010, Mr. Th. Jugindro, learned counsel on record for writ petitioners in WP(Crl.) Nos. 29 and 32 of 2013, Mr. RK Umakanta, learned senior advocate instructed by Mr. W. Niranjit, learned State Counsel for respondent No. 2 in WP(C) No. 703 of 2010, Mr. Samarjit Hawaibam, learned senior advocate instructed by Mr. W. Niranjit, learned State Counsel for respondent Nos. 1 and 2 in W.P.(Crl.) Nos. 29 and 32 of 2013, Mr. N. Nongdamba, learned counsel representing senior advocate and learned DSGI (Deputy Solicitor General of India) Mr. Kh. Samarjit for respondent Nos. 1, 3 and 4 in WP(C) No. 703 of 2010 and Mr. BR Sharma, CGC (Central Government Counsel) for respondent Nos. 3, 4 and 5 in WP(Crl.) Nos. 29 and 32 of 2013 are before this Court (physical Court).
[2] Mr. T. Rajendra, learned senior advocate and Mr. Th. Jugindro are ready to advance arguments. However, Mr. Nongdamba, requests for an accommodation stating that learned DSGI is indisposed. Mr. W. Niranjit, learned State Counsel also requests for time citing difficulty for senior advocate Mr. Samarjit Hawaibam who is leading him. Mr. RK Umakanta, learned senior advocate and Mr. BR Sharma are ready.
[3] Mr. T. Rajendra, learned senior counsel highlighted that it is an old matter which requires early disposal but did not oppose the aforereferred adjournment request as it is made on the ground that Deputy Solicitor is indisposed. Learned senior counsel submitted that it would be desirable to have the matter taken up and heard out early.
[4] As regards WP(Crl.) No. 29 of 2013, it is seen that the erstwhile sole writ petitioner died pending writ petition and 8 (eight) legal heirs have been brought on record but Registry has shown the name of erstwhile sole writ petitioner viz., Mr. N. Muhindro Meitei who is no more. Registry to do the course correction in this regard in the cause list in/from the next listing.
[5] In the light of the narrative thus far, list on 21.05.2026.
