IMPHAL, India, May 1 -- Manipur High Court issued the following order on March 30:
[1] Mr. Kh. Surajfrenko, learned counsel for appellant husband and Ms. N. Savitri, learned counsel for respondent wife are before this Court. Though in and vide judgment and decree dated 07.08.2025 of Family Court, Thoubal, Manipur passed in Judicial Misc. Case No. 12 of 2025 in connection with Matrimonial (Divorce) Suit No. 1 of 2021 which is under appeal in captioned appeal, a decree of divorce has been made, this Court is referring to both parties as husband and wife for the sake of convenience.
[2] Afore-referred learned counsel on both sides submit that matter was referred to mediation and the same was unsuccessful but elements of settlement still exist and therefore it is desirable to explore possibility of settlement by resorting to mediation again.
[3] In the light of narrative thus far, captioned matter is referred to mediation by High Court Mediation Centre under the aegis of Manipur High Court Legal Services Committee.
[4] Listing before the Mediation Centre (first sitting) will be on 06.04.2026 (Monday) at 02:00 p.m., the venue shall be Mediation Centre situate in the High Court campus.
[5] Both afore-referred learned counsel submit that their respective clients i.e., sole appellant and sole respondent will be present on the aforesaid date, time and venue without insisting on separate hearing notice/s.
[6] We requisition a mediation report from the Mediation Centre on or before 18.05.2026.
[7] List under the cause list caption 'FOR MEDIATION REPORT' on 19.05.2026.
