MANIPUR HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON MOIRANGTHEM BARNAT MEITEI V/S OFFICER IN CHARGE, MOIRANG POLICE STATION AND ANR.

IMPHAL, India, April 9 -- Manipur High Court issued the following order on March 9:

[1] Present Mr. Satish, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs. RK. Emily, learned Dy. GA on behalf of Mr. H. Samarjit, learned PP for the State respondents and Mr. A. Gautam Sharma, learned counsel for the private respondent.

[2] Pleadings are completed in AB No. 8 of 2025.

[3] However, counter affidavit has not been filed by the State respondents in AB No. 9 of 2025, AB No. 10 of 2025, AB No. 11 of 2025 and AB No. 12 of 2025.

[4] Mr. A. Gautam Sharma, learned counsel for the private respondent submits that counter affidavit of the private respondent has already on record.

[5] Mrs. RK. Emily, learned Dy. GA prays for 2(two) week's time for taking instructions as to whether separate counter affidavit will be filed in connected matter or counter affidavit of AB No. 8 of 2025 will be adopted in the remaining connected matter.

[6] List this AB No. 8 of 2025 along with connected matter i.e. AB No. 9 of 2025, AB No. 10 of 2025, AB No. 11 of 2025, AB No. 12 of 2025 on 26.03.2026 for hearing.

[7] Earlier interim order is extended till the next date.
