IMPHAL, India, June 9 -- Manipur High Court issued the following order on May 7:

WP(C) No. 670 of 2022 has been filed by 22 writ petitioners with the prayer for directing the respondents not to inaugurate New Lamphel Supermarket Complex till finalization of the allotment of 22 shop sites to the petitioners, who are the members of a Self-Employed Youth Association, Lamphel Supermarket.

It has been submitted by Mr. Anjan Prasad Sahu, learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioners that during the pendency of this writ petition, the Municipal Commissioner, Imphal Municipal Corporation has issued an order dated 13-03-2026 to the effect that the Imphal Municipal Corporation have reserved 22 shop sites for allotment in favour of the members of the Self-Employed Youth Association of which, the writ petitioners are the members and that the said shop sites will be allotted in favour of the petitioners on the disposal of the said writ petition. The learned counsel further submitted that the said order has been enclosed as Annexure in the additional affidavit dated 29-04-2026 filed on behalf of the petitioners. The learned counsel, accordingly, prays that the present writ petition can be disposed of in terms of the order dated 13-03-2026.

Mrs. L. Monomala, learned GA appeared on behalf of the respondent No. 1, Mr. Y. Nikheel, learned counsel appeared on behalf of respondents No. 2 and 3 and Mrs. Gangarani, learned counsel appeared on behalf of respondent No. 4.

The counsel for the respondents No. 2 and 3 seeks one week's time to get instruction from the authorities with regard to the said order dated 13-03-2026 issued by the Municipal Commissioner, Imphal Municipal Corporation and to revert back to this court.

On the request made by the counsel appearing for the respondents, let these cases be listed again on 15-05-2026.

Registry is directed to place on record the additional affidavit filed on behalf of the writ petitioners.
