MANIPUR HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER FOR THIYAM YAISANA CHANU AND 2 ORS. V/S UNION OF INDIA AND 2 ORS.

IMPHAL, India, April 20 -- Manipur High Court issued the following order on March 20:

Mr. Kh. Tarunkumar, learned senior counsel assisted by Ms. Julekha Khan, learned counsel and Mr. S. Lokhendro, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the petitioners.

Mr. Themchuiyo Kashung, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the Union of India, Mr. A. Rommel, learned counsel appeared on behalf of some of the private respondents and Mr. BP Sahu, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. Deepak Prasad Sahu, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the Manipur University through VC platform.

Mr. S. Lokhendro, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners seeks 1 week's time as a last chance for filing rejoinder affidavit.

Mr. BP Sahu, learned senior counsel appearing for the Manipur University submitted that the Manipur University to be allowed to declare the result of the selection process undertaken by it.

In view of the submission made above, 1 week's time as a last chance is given to Mr. S. Lokhendro, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners for filing rejoinder affidavit.

Prayer for modification of the earlier interim order shall be considered on the next date.

As prayed for, list these cases again on 10.04.2026.
