JABALPUR, India, Nov. 27 -- Madhya Pradesh High Court issued the following judgment/order on Oct. 29:
1. Reference may be had to order dated 06.08.2025 of this Court which notices that the corpus was missing in the year 2001 and the subject petition has been filed in 2025 after gap of 24 years. The order denotes that missing person report was lodged and the case is still alive.
2 . The investigation was conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Police. The investigation ended at Delhi thereafter, investigation was further conducted with the aid of Delhi Police. However, no clue with regard to the whereabouts of the corpus could be traced. As per the State, entire protocol for tracing out missing person has been followed by putting up posters circulating the photographs etc. However, corpus could not be traced.
3. Reliance is placed on circular dated 10.08.2021 which provides that efforts shall be made to trace out adult missing person for the period of 7 years and in case, the person is not traced, the case could be closed for the Sub Divisional Officer as also Superintendent of Police. The terms of circular dated 10.08.2021, the SHO of P.S. Multai had sought permission of the Sub Divisional Officer for closer of the case as untraceable. The Sub Divisional Officer has examined the entire record and steps were taken by the police authorities both as Madhya Pradesh as well as Delhi to trace out the corpus and in view of the fact that over 24 years has elapsed, the case has been directed to be closed.

We have also perused the various status reports filed by the State indicating the steps taken by over period of time to trace out the corpus and have satisfied with the certain steps were taken by the State to trace out the corpus, who was a major at the time corpus had missing as also the report of the Sub Divisional Officer direct permitting closer of the missing person report.
5. In view of the above, no further orders are called for in the petition. The petition, is accordingly, disposed of.
