JABALPUR, India, Oct. 21 -- Madhya Pradesh High Court issued the following order on Sept. 22:
1. Petitioner has filed the subject public interest litigation seeking a direction to respondents to install view cutters so that the noise from the flyover does not travel beyond the flyover as well as the residents adjoining the flyover are not put any inconvenience.
2. Learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the flyover has become a place of entertainment by youngsters who are riding their bikes etc. at a high speed and are even make reels on the flyover thereby the disrupting the traffic and accidents are also being caused because of the said reason. He further submits that there are not enough sign posts and that is why some people loosing their way and returning on the flyover on the wrong side causing accidents. He further submits that because of the ensuing festivals there is a likelihood that the traffic would increase and the traffic jams may occur.
3. Mr. H.S. Ruprah, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the State submits that State shall explore the possibility and feasibility of installing view cutters on the flyover, and to ensure that there are sufficient sign posts before and on the flyover and shall also deploy sufficient man power to ensure that there is no traffic jam or accident caused on the flyover entry and exit points.
4. In view of the said assurance, this petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the viability and feasibility of installment of view cutters and further to install sufficient sign posts and deploy sufficient man power to ensure that there is no traffic jam or accidents.
