JABALPUR, India, April 20 -- Madhya Pradesh High Court issued the following judgment/order on March 20:
Petitioners have filed the subject petition seeking a direction to the concerned Collector, who is the Arbitrator, in terms of provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956.
It is contended that the land of the petitioners was acquired by issuing a notification in the year 2014 and fair assessment of compensation has till date not taken place.
Keeping in view of the facts and circumstances of the case, the Collector i.e. the Arbitrator is directed to decide the pending petition as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three months of communication of this order, if not already decided. In case, the proceedings have already been disposed of, order be communicated to the petitioners forthwith.
