RANCHI, India, June 4 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on April 4:
1. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
2. This I.A. seeks condonation of delay of 154 days in instituting this appeal.
3. We have perused the averments in the I.A. and we are satisfied that sufficient cause has been shown. Accordingly, delay is condoned and this I.A. is disposed of.

4. With the consent of and at the request of learned counsel for the parties, we have taken7 up this Letters Patent Appeal for final disposal.
5. Learned counsel for the appellants submits that the respondents can be granted ACP/ MACP from the day he clears the Hindi Noting and Drafting examination, but not from any earlier date.
6. The above issue stands settled in favour of the respondent no.1 herein by the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Amresh Kumar Singh & Ors. Vs. The State of Bihar & Ors., 2023 SCC OnLine SC 496.
7. The impugned decision and the order of the learned Single Judge is consistent with the view taken by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Amaresh Kumar (supra).
8. Accordingly, this appeal is dismissed without any order for costs. Pending I.As. in this appeal will not survive and are disposed of.
