RANCHI, India, March 2 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Jan. 30:

1. The instant application has been preferred by the petitioner praying therein for quashing the order dated 27.03.1985.

2. From bare perusal of the impugned order, it appears that the petitioner was appointed on compassionate ground in the year 1984 and since his work was not found acceptable, he has been terminated from service vide order dated 27.03.1985.

3. In any view of the matter, from the records it appears that the writ application has been filed on 12.01.2009 i.e. after 24 years of termination. Even today none appears for the petitioner, however, learned counsel for the respondent-State is present.

4. Having regard to the fact that the writ petition has been filed after a delay of almost 24 years, no relief can be granted to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the instant writ application stands dismissed.
