RANCHI, India, June 4 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on April 4:
1. Heard the parties.
2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the petitioner has applied for Arms license under the Arms Act before the appropriate authority, but no decision upon his application has yet been taken.
3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that suffice it would be if the direction is given to the respondents to take a final decision on the application of the petitioner.
4. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that if the application is still pending and if as on date, no decision has yet been taken, appropriate decision will be taken on the issue as per the law.
5. Considering the said submission, I direct the petitioner to approach the Deputy Commissioner, Dumka by filing a representation along with the copy of this order. If the license application is still pending, it is expected that the same will be decided as per the law by the authority within the period of eight weeks and, thereafter, will communicate the order to the petitioner.
6. If in the meantime, it is found that the order has already been passed, the same will be communicated to the petitioner.
7. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of.
