RANCHI, India, Nov. 4 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 6:

1. Heard the parties.

2. The Petitioner has been made an accused in connection with Namkum P.S. Case No. 45/2024, for the offences registered under Sections 467, 468, 420 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 12 of Jharkhand Competitive Examination (Prevention and Redressal of Unfair Means in Recruitment Bill, 2023) Act and Section 66 of I.T. Act pending in the Court of Sri Mayank Maliyaz, learned Judicial Magistrate First Class-IX, Ranchi.

3. It appears that the examination of J.G.G.L.C.C.E.-2023 was held at 735 examination centres in all the districts of Jharkhand. The examination was held in three sessions. Later on, it transpired that the question paper of General Knowledge was leaked. Some of the Coaccused persons were apprehended and they implicated this petitioner.

4. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is not in any way involved in leak of question paper of General Knowledge. It was further submitted that similarly situated several co-accused persons have been granted bail by this Court as well as Co-ordinate Bench of this Court earlier.

5. Learned Special P.P. appearing on behalf of the State has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner but does not dispute the aforesaid facts.

6. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of Sri Mayank Maliyaz, learned Judicial Magistrate First Class-IX, Ranchi or his successor in connection with Namkum P.S. Case No. 45/2024.
