RANCHI, India, Jan. 8 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Dec. 8:

1. By filing this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for the following reliefs:- "for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ/ order commanding upon the respondents to pay the arrears and current salary for the post of Assistant engineer-in-charge (Current charge) for the period since February, 2025 onwards with interest @ 12 % per annum directing the respondent Nos.4 to issue Last Pay Certificate and within a specified period"

2. Heard learned counsel representing the petitioner and learned counsel representing the respondents.

3. Learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner has not been paid salary since February, 2025, on the ground that his Last Pay Certificate has not been forwarded by respondent No.4. He submits that the petitioner has filed a representation, which is yet to be decided. He further submits that suffice it be if the representation of the petitioner is directed to be decided by the respondents.

4. Considering the aforesaid submission, I direct the petitioner to file a fresh representation before respondent No.2 - Secretary, Water Resources Department, Government of Jharkhand, along with all the documents, within four weeks.

5. On receipt of such representation, the respondent - No.2, will consider the case of the petitioner and pass an appropriate order, within six weeks.

6. If the petitioner is found entitled for the relief, the same shall be extended to him within two weeks thereafter.

7. If any part of the claim / representation of the petitioner is rejected, the reasons thereof must be communicated to the petitioner within the aforesaid period.

8. With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
