RANCHI, India, June 4 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on April 4:

Heard Mrs. Nitu Sinha, learned counsel for the appellant and none appears on behalf of the State.

2. This application has been preferred by the appellant for condoning the delay of 25 days in filing the appeal.

3. Having been satisfied with the reasons assigned in the instant application, the same is allowed and the delay of 25 days in filing the appeal is hereby condoned.

4. I.A. No. 5519 of 2026 stands disposed of.

5. This appeal is directed against the order dated 21.01.2026 passed by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Jamtara in M.C.A No. 33/2026 arising out of Fatehpur P.S. Case No. 48/2025, whereby and whereunder, the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected.

It has been alleged that on a secret informant that some persons were involved in immoral trafficking, a raid was conducted at Raj Hotel, Kairabani and the appellant and her husband who were fleeing away were apprehended. Both the apprehended accused had disclosed that they were involved in the business of flesh trade. Several incriminating articles were recovered from their possession.

7. Submission has been advanced by learned counsel for the appellant that appellant is in custody since 20.12.2025. It has further been submitted that one Ankita Singh was engaged to perform in an Orchestra party on the occasion of Christmas but there appeared to be some dispute with respect to non-payment of the advance money, as a result of which the case was instituted.

Regard being had to the period of custody under gone by the appellant and the main allegation having been levelled against the husband of the appellant namely Pappu Rana, we, while setting aside the order dated 21.01.2026 passed by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Jamtara in M.C.A No. 33/2026 arising out of Fatehpur P.S. Case No. 48/2025, direct that the appellant be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned learned Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jamtara in connection with S.T. Case No. 32/2026 arising out of Fatehpur P.S. Case No. 48/2025.

9. This appeal is allowed.
