JHARKHAND HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON RIMISH GURIA V/S THE STATE OF JHARKHAND

RANCHI, India, Aug. 27 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on July 28:

It is submitted by learned counsel for the appellant that the appellant has died during pendency of the instant Cr. Appeal while serving sentence of imprisonment in Birsa Munda Central Jail, Hotwar, Ranchi. Earlier an interlocutory application for suspension of sentence was filed, but the same was withdrawn as the appellant had died. A copy of the Letter addressed by the Superintendent of Jail to the Secretary, JHLSC has been filed wherein it has been stated that the appellant died on 24.09.2023 during the treatment at RIMS, Ranchi.

Accordingly, the instant Cr. Appeal (SJ) stands dismissed as abated.
