RANCHI, India, March 8 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Feb. 6:

1. In this writ petition, the petitioners at the present are abandoning their prayer nos. 1 (i), (ii) and (iii). They confine their prayer to prayer no. 1(iv), which is in respect of encashment of Earned Leave of 300 days.

2. After hearing the parties, I find that petitioner no. 1 was Darwan-cum-Peon, petitioner no. 2 was Peon-cum-Watchman, petitioner no. 3 was Typist-cum-Clerk and petitioner no. 4 was Clerk. All of them are non-teaching staffs of Yogoda Satsanga Mahavidyalaya, Ranchi. These petitioners have not been paid encashment of earned leave.

3. This Court in W.P.(S) No.4027 of 2025 titled "Ajay Singh & Ors. Vs. The State of Jharkhand & Ors.", vide order dated 19th August, 2025, directed the Yogoda Satsanga Mahavidyalaya, Ranchi, to compute the number of days of leave, which are lying in the credit of the petitioners of that writ petition and forward the same to the University. Further, the University was directed to forward the same with the recommendation to the Government. It was also directed that the University will seek necessary funds. On receipt of the recommendation from the University, the State was directed to arrange for the fund and disburse the same to the University. The University was thereafter directed to make payment through the College.

4. Learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the case of this petitioners is squarely covered by the aforesaid directions, which are given in W.P.(S) No.4027 of 2025.

5. In similar matters, this Court had directed the respondents to pay leave encashment amount to the non-teaching staffs of the Yogoda Satsanga Mahavidyalaya, one being WP(S) No. 716 of 2025 titled "Krishna Kumar Jha vs. The State of Jharkhand and Others".

6. Learned counsel appearing for the State and University submits that the case of the petitioners, on facts, is similar to the case of "Krishna Kumar Jha" (supra)

7. Mr. Amit Kumar Sinha, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Ranchi University submits that they have received requisition from the Yogoda Satsanga Mahavidyalaya, Ranchi for onwards disbursement to the petitioners.

8. Considering the said submission, I direct the Registrar, Ranchi University to disburse the amount to Yogoda Satsanga Mahavidyalaya within five weeks from today.

9. On receipt of the same the College will credit the amount to the petitioners within two weeks thereafter.

10. With the aforesaid observation, this writ petition stands disposed of.
