RANCHI, India, May 25 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on April 23:

Heard Mr. Devesh Ajmani, learned counsel appearing for the appellant and the learned A.P.P. appearing for the State.

This appeal is directed against the order dated 25.03.2026 passed in B. P. No. 256 of 2026 arising out Chutia P. S. Case No. 28 of 2026 by the learned Judicial Commissioner, Ranchi whereby and whereunder the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected.

It has been alleged that a raid was conducted at Hotel The Cenet, Chutia from where Mandeep Kumar Goswami and Sobha Kumari were apprehended. Subsequently on search of the rooms, the appellant along with some girls were also apprehended and several incriminating articles were recovered.

Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellant that the main allegation of carrying on the business of flesh trade has been attributed to Mandeep Kumar Goswami and Sobha Kumari. It has further been submitted that so far as the appellant is concerned, he was apprehended from a room with a girl and it cannot be said that he was also involved in the offence. He has further stated that the appellant is in custody since 02.03.2026.

Learned A.P.P. for the State has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant.

Regard being had to the fact that the main allegation seems to have been levelled against Mandeep Kumar Goswami and Sobha Kumari, we while setting aside the order dated 25.03.2026 passed in B. P. No. 256 of 2026 by the learned Judicial Commissioner, Ranchi direct that the appellant above named be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ranchi in connection Chutia P. S. Case No. 28 of 2026.

This appeal is allowed.
