RANCHI, India, Feb. 22 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Jan. 20:

Heard Mr. Gautam Kumar, learned counsel for the appellant and learned A.P.P.

This appeal is directed against the order dated 16.12.2025 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge-I, Dhanbad in B.P. No. 1021/2025 in connection with G.R.P.S. Case No. 124/2025, whereby and whereunder, the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected.

It has been alleged that several children who were being trafficked were apprehended from the General Coach of Vasco Da Gama Express train and the appellant and other persons were also apprehended.

Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellant that so far as the present appellant is concerned, his name has been taken by two of the children, namely, Manoj Kumar and Ajay Vishwakarma to the effect that the appellant had booked their general tickets. Learned counsel submits that the parents of the said children have stated otherwise. It has further been submitted that the appellant is in custody since 11.11.2025 and the appellant does not have any criminal antecedent.

Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant.

On consideration of the aforesaid aspects, we while setting aside the order dated 16.12.2025 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge-I, Dhanbad in B.P. No. 1021/2025 in connection with G.R.P.S. Case No. 124/2025 direct that the appellant be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Judicial Magistrate Railway, Dhanbad.

This appeal is allowed.
