RANCHI, India, Oct. 27 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Sept. 26:
1, Heard learned counsels for petitioner and for State.
2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Meharma PS Case No.67 of 2025, for offence registered under section 25(1-B)(a), 26 and 35 of Arms Act, 1959, pending in court of learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Godda.
3. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and name of the petitioner has come on confessional statement and it is alleged that arms were recovered from the possession of the petitioner. He further submits that petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as disclosed in para 8 of the petition.
4. Learned State counsel opposes prayer and submits that name of the petitioner has come on confessional statement.
5. Considering that name of the petitioner has come on confessional statement and petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as aforesaid, I am inclined to grant anticipatory bail to petitioner.
6. Accordingly, petitioner, above named, is hereby directed to surrender before learned court within three weeks from today, and in event of his surrender/arrest, petitioner, above named, shall be released on bail, on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand), with two sureties of like amount each, to satisfaction of learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Godda, in connection with Meharma PS Case No.67 of 2025, subject to the conditions as laid down under section 482(2) of Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
