RANCHI, India, April 9 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on March 9:

1. Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing for the State.

2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Patan P.S. Case No.135 of 2024, registered for the offence under Section 309(4) of the BNS, 2023, pending in the Court of the learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Palamu at Daltonganj.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the name of the petitioner has come on the confessional statement of Ravindra Paswan @ Rabindra Paswan and he has been granted anticipatory bail by a Coordinate Bench of this Court in A.B.A. No.2329 of 2024. He further submits that the petitioner is having no criminal antecedent, as disclosed in paragraph 11 of this application.

4. Learned counsel appearing for the State opposed the prayer and submits that the name of the petitioner has come on the confessional statement.

5. Considering that the name of the petitioner has come on confessional statement of another accused, who has been granted anticipatory bail by the Coordinate Bench of this Court in the aforesaid A.B.A. and the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent, as disclosed in paragraph 11 of this application and in the attending facts and circumstances of the case, I am inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, the above-named petitioner is directed to surrender before the learned Court within three weeks from today and in the event of his arrest or surrender, he shall be enlarged on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/- (Twenty Five Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Palamu at Daltonganj in connection with Patan P.S. Case No.135 of 2024, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
