RANCHI, India, Jan. 8 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Dec. 8:

1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was acquitted by the learned trial court in Complaint Case No.1124 of 2023 and the complainant has challenged the same in Criminal Appeal No.10 of 2025 and the learned appellate court has set aside the trial court judgment of acquittal dated 31.01.2025 passed by learned ACJM, Garhwa in Complaint Case No.1124 of 2023 under Section 420 IPC and section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act and the learned Sessions Judge, Garhwa has allowed the cr.appeal no.10 of 2025 preferred by the O.P.No.2 against the judgment of acquittal of petitioner and the petitioner was directed to undergo SI for two years and compensation to the tune of Rs.7 lacs was allowed and further directed that if the said amount is not paid, the petitioner will go RI for two years.

2. In view of above, issue notice upon the O.P.No.2 by speed post as well as under ordinary process for which requisites etc must be filed within a week.

3. Till the next date, no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioner in connection with Complaint Case No.1124 of 2023 pending in the court of learned A.C.J.M., Garhwa.
