RANCHI, India, Nov. 19 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 29:

1. Heard the parties.

2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Torpa P.S. Case No. 52 of 2025, for the offences registered under Sections 140, 3(5) of the B.N.S., 2023, pending in the Court of learned Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Khunti.

3. On 20.07.2025, brother of the informant, namely, Kisto Mahto went missing. On enquiry, it transpired that he was abducted by this petitioner and co-accused persons.

4. It was submitted that Kisko Mahto had given loan to one of the accused persons and he had demanded exorbitant interest on the said amount due to which, the accused persons took him to police station to settle the dispute. It was further submitted that the victim had returned home on the same day.

5. It appears that several similarly situated co-accused persons have been granted bail by this Court earlier.

6. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Khunti, in connection with Torpa P.S. Case No. 52 of 2025.
