RANCHI, India, April 13 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on March 11:

Heard Mr. Vijay Kumar Roy, learned counsel appearing for the appellant and the learned Special P.P. appearing for the State.

This appeal is directed against the order dated 13.01.2026 passed in B. P. No. 769 of 2025 arising out of Jamua P. S. Case No. 38 of 2025 by the learned Additional Sessions Judge IX, Giridih whereby and whereunder the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected.

It has been alleged that the appellant as well as some other named accused persons were trafficking the women of the rural areas who are working in Banvasi Vikas Ashram Sanstha, Giridih to Rajasthan for the purposes of prostitution.

Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellant that he is in custody since 03.12.2025. It has further been submitted that some of the co-accused persons have been granted bail by a coordinate Bench of this court in Cr. Appeal (DB) Nos. 551 of 2025 and 605 of 2025. Learned counsel for the appellant further adds that one of the victim namely, Bhuti Devi has already been recovered.

Learned Special P.P. for the State has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant, but has not disputed the fact that similarly situated coaccused persons have been granted bail as noted above.

Regard being had to the above, we while setting aside the order dated 13.01.2026 passed in B. P. No. 769 of 2025, direct that the appellant above named be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of the learned Judicial Magistrate 1st class, Giridih in connection with Jamua P. S. Case No. 38 of 2025.

This appeal is allowed.
