RANCHI, India, Feb. 7 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Jan. 6:

I.A. No. 16636 of 2025

1. Heard Mrs. Nivedita Kundu, learned counsel for the appellant and learned A.P.P.

2. This application has been preferred by the appellant for condoning the delay of 19 days in filing the appeal.

3. Having been satisfied with the reasons assigned in the instant application, the same is allowed and the delay of 19 days in filing the appeal is hereby condoned.

4. I.A. No. 16636 of 2025 stands disposed of.

5. This appeal is directed against the order dated 10.09.2025 passed in Misc. Criminal Application No.370 of 2025, arising out of Khunti (AHTU) P.S. No. 02 of 2021 by the learned Addl. Sessions Judge-I, Khunti, whereby and where under the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected.

6. It has been alleged that the appellant was apprehended near the railway station and three minor children were recovered. It has further been alleged that these children were taken to Delhi for the purpose of human trafficking.

7. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellant that the appellant is in custody since 02.08.2025. It has further been submitted that charge-sheet has already been submitted by the police and so far as the victims are concerned, they have given different versions in the statements recorded by the police, which is not suggestive of the involvement of the appellant in human trafficking.

8. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant.

9. On consideration of the period of custody undergone by the appellant and the fact that the charge-sheet has already been submitted by the police, we while setting aside the order dated 10.09.2025 passed in Misc. Criminal Application No.370 of 2025, arising out of Khunti (AHTU) P.S. No. 02 of 2021 by the learned Addl. Sessions Judge-I, Khunti, direct the appellant to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Addl. Sessions Judge-I, Khunti.

10. Accordingly, this appeal stands allowed and disposed of.
