RANCHI, India, Nov. 22 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 22:

1. Heard the parties.

2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with N.D.P.S. Case No. 34/2025 arising out of Maranghada P.S. Case No. 06/2025, for the offences registered under Section 18(b) of the N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the Court of learned Special Judge, NDPS, Khunti.

3. On 08.02.2025, Maranghada Police on the basis of confidential information destructed poppy cultivation from Hundrudih village.

4. It was submitted that petitioner was apprehended while he was standing in the poppy field. It was further submitted that petitioner was hired as a labourer by the co-accused person. It was also submitted that petitioner has got no criminal antecedent. It was finally submitted that similarly situated co-accused Jitrai Munda has been granted bail by this Court vide B.A. No. 9308/2025.

5. In view of the submissions made above, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Special Judge, NDPS, Khunti in connection with N.D.P.S. Case No. 34/2025 arising out of Maranghada P.S. Case No. 06/2025.
