RANCHI, India, Nov. 25 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 29:
1. Instant application was initially preferred by the petitionerManagement praying therein for quashing the Award dated 8th March, 2001, passed by the 1st respondent in Ref. Case No. 147/1997, whereby the learned Presiding Officer, C.G.I.T. No. 1, Dhanbad has directed the petitioner-Management to regularize the concerned workmen.
2. During course of hearing Ld. Sr. Counsel representing the Petitioner-Management showed her intention for out of Court settlement and pursuant thereto; orders dated 08.09.2025 and 25.09.2025 have been passed by this Court.
3. For brevity both the orders are quoted herein below:
"26/08.09.2025 Learned counsel for the Petitioner fairly submits that the Management is agreeable to pay a lum sump of Rs. 3.05 Lakhs as agreed on the last date of hearing. Accordingly, learned counsel for the Petitioner shall file an affidavit to the effect that the Management shall pay Rs. 3.05 Lakhs per workman as one time final settlement.
2. Learned counsel for the Respondents is also directed to file acceptance affidavit in order to settle the dispute on the compromise.
3. Accordingly, list this case on 25.09.2025."
"Order No.27 /Dated: 25th September 2025
Learned counsel for the rival parties submits that in the order dated 08.09.2025 one time lump-sump amount has inadvertently been typed as Rs. 3.05 Lakhs instead of Rs. 3.50 Lakhs.
Accordingly, in the order dated 08.09.2025 passed by this Court instead of Rs.3.05 Lakhs be read as Rs. 3.50 Lakhs henceforth.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has already filed an affidavit to the aforesaid fact that they are ready for Rs. 3.50 Lakhs.
Learned counsel for the workman shall seek instruction and file an affidavit, if so advised.
List this case on 29.10.2025."

Pursuant to the aforesaid orders, both the Management as well as the workmen have filed their respective affidavits which clearly indicates that the Management is ready to pay Rs.3.50 lakhs to each of the workmen, who were given benefit by the learned Tribunal and counsel for the workmen draws attention of the Court towards affidavit filed by the workmen, which clearly indicates that the workmen are agreeable for the onetime settlement to the tune of Rs.3.50 lakhs to be paid to each of the workmen, who were benefited by virtue of the Award, which is under challenge in this writ application.

It has been jointly submitted that the instant application may be disposed of by directing the Petitioner-Management to deposit the entire amount before the Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (JHALSA), Ranchi and the Member Secretary, JHALSA be requested to disburse the said amount to each of the workmen after their proper identification.
6. Having regard to the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made hereinabove and also the averments made in the respective affidavits for settlement, the instant writ application is hereby disposed of by directing the PetitionerManagement to deposit Rs.1,22,50,000/- (Rupees One Crore Twenty Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand only) before the Member Secretary, JHALSA, Ranchi, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
