RANCHI, India, March 28 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Feb. 25:
Heard Mr. K.S. Nanda, learned counsel for the appellant and learned A.P.P.
This appeal is directed against the order dated 08.01.2026 passed by the learned Additional Sessions JudgeI-cum-Special Judge, Gumla in B.P. No. 10/2026 in connection with Raidih P.S. Case No. 63/2025, whereby and whereunder, the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected.
It has been alleged that the infant child of the appellant and that of one Suman Kujur were sold to the other accused persons.
Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellant that the child was given for adoption and it has wrongly been construed that the appellant was instrumental in selling her child. It has been submitted that the appellant is in custody since 09.12.2025.
Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant.
It appears that the appellant is the mother who had sold the child to another person in lieu of an amount of Rs. 90,000/- and subsequently the child was recovered.
Regard being had to the specific nature of allegation levelled against the appellant, we are not inclined to interfere in the order dated 08.01.2026 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge-I-cum-Special Judge, Gumla in B.P. No. 10/2026 in connection with Raidih P.S. Case No. 63/2025 and consequently, we dismiss this appeal.
