RANCHI, India, Nov. 22 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 22:
1. Heard the parties.
2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No. 41/2024 arising out of Petarbar P.S. Case No. 120/2023 corresponding to G.R. Case No. 929/2023, for the offences registered under Sections 302, 201 & 120B of the I.P.C., pending in the Court of learned A.S.J.-III, Bermo at Tenughat (Bokaro).
3. Bail application of the petitioner was earlier rejected by a coordinate Bench of this Court vide B.A. No. 4103/2024 by order dated 31.07.2024.
4. It is alleged that petitioner was having illicit relationship with the deceased. It is further alleged that prior to the date of occurrence, petitioner alongwith deceased had stayed together in a hotel thereafter she was murdered.
5. Report regarding the stage of trial, earlier called for, has been received. It appears that out of 18 charge-sheeted witnesses, 7 witnesses have already been examined. Learned Trial Court has further stated that trial is likely to be concluded within six months.
6. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected at this stage.
7. Learned Trial Court shall expedite the trial and preferably conclude the same within six months.
