RANCHI, India, Nov. 25 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 29:
1. The present criminal appeal has been filed against the judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated 09.05.2006 and 10.05.2006 respectively passed by learned A.D.J. (F.T.C.), Sahibganj in Sessions Case No.58 of 2005 (T.R. No.179 of 2005), whereby the appellant has been convicted for the offence under Section 364 of the IPC and has been sentenced to undergo R.I. for seven years.
2. A counter affidavit has been filed by the State dated 21.04.2025 wherein it has been stated that the sole appellant has already died.
3. Learned counsel for the appellant has submitted that in spite of his best effort he has received no instruction from the legal heir of the appellant to pursue the present criminal appeal.
4. In that view of the matter, the present criminal appeal is, hereby, dismissed as infructuous
