RANCHI, India, April 13 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on March 11:

1. Heard the parties.

2. The present writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-

"1) For issuance of an appropriate writ/s, order/s, direction/s or a particular writ in the nature of mandamus commanding upon the respondents to make payment of compensation with respect to the land pertaining to Khata No. 17, Plot No. 93, area 9 decimals, Plot No. 97, area 26 decimals, Plot No. 112, area 23 decimals, Plot No. 167, area 8 decimals, Plot No. 169, area 30 decimals, Plot No. 175, area 45 decimals, Plot No. 15/861, area 6 decimals, Plot No. 148, area 33 decimals, Plot No. 166, area 15 decimals, Plot No. 208, area 45 decimals, Plot No. 3, area 35 decimals, total area 2 acres 75 decimals, acquired by the respondents.

2) For issuance of an appropriate writ/s, order/s, direction/s or a particular writ in the nature of mandamus commanding upon the respondents to handover the vacant portion of the aforementioned land within the area of 2 acres 75 decimals in Khata No. 17, Plot No. 93, 97, 112, 167, 169, 175, 15/861, 148, 166, 208 and Plot No. 3 to the petitioner."

3. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the cause of action is of the year 1952 then allegedly the land has been acquired. The present case has been filed after passing more than 70 years.

4. In view of the above submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner itself, the present writ petition is not maintainable on the ground of delay and latches.

5. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed.
