RANCHI, India, April 9 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on March 9:

1. This bail application has been filed under Sections 483 & 484 of BNSS, 2023 wherein, prayer has been made for grant of bail as he is in custody for allegedly committing offence punishable under Sections 452, 341, 342, 376D and 506 of IPC.

2. Heard, learned counsel for the petitioner learned counsel for the State and have also gone through the impugned order.

3. Learned AddI. P.P. opposes the prayer for bail.

4. This is a case of gang rape. The victim in her statement recorded under Section 164 of the Cr.P.C. has supported the prosecution case.

5. Considering the direct allegation, I am not inclined to grant privilege of bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in connection with S.T. Case No.87 of 2025, arising out of Masalia P.S. Case No. 47 of 2023, pending in the Court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-II Dumka, stands rejected.

6. Accordingly, this bail application is dismissed.

7. The Trial Court directed to take up the trial of this petitioner and others and conclude the same at the earliest.
