RANCHI, India, Feb. 23 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Jan. 22:

1. Heard the learned counsel representing the petitioner and the learned counsel representing the State.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that she is not getting the family pension on death of her husband.

3. The husband of the petitioner died on 23.09.2023 after superannuation and he was working as Chowkidar in the Animal Husbandry Department but after his death the family pension has not commenced. The respondents have not started paying the family pension.

4. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that they have received instructions that very recently the petitioner has filled up the online pension form and now after processing the same payment will be made.

5. Considering the said submission, I dispose of this writ petition directing respondent no. 2-the District Animal Husbandry Officer, West Singhbhum at Chaibasa to ensure that the family pension along with the arrears to be paid to the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

6. With the aforesaid observation and direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
